How To Set Up Wireless Connection in PIXMA MG3540?

WPS Connection Method

It is the easiest method for connecting the PIXMA MG3540 Printer to a network without password. Before you go through steps of WPS Connection Method some conditions need to be fulfilled which are:
·         First of all, the access point must have a physical WPS push button available. If the WPS push button is not available, then you can use the instructions in the Standard Connection Method.
·         Second thing is that, your network must be using the WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) or WPA2 security protocol. Almost every WPS enabled access points use this protocol.

Steps for Connecting PIXMA MG3540 through WPS

·         First of all, switch on the printer.
·         Then, press the Wi-Fi button and release only it after the alarm light blinks.
·         Now, when the Wi-Fi button light flashes blue, then press the WPS button on the access point within 2 minutes. You can refer the access point user guide for starting WPS on the access point.
·         The flashing of blue light next to the Wi-Fi button will keep indicates that the printer is searching for the network.
·         The power lights and Wi-Fi will flash once the printer starts connecting to the access point and will stop flashing and stay lit once the connection between the printer and the wireless network is established successfully.
Making Confirmation through Network Settings

 Follow the steps given below in order to make sure that the printer is connected successfully to wireless network:
·         Switch on the printer.
·         After that, load A4 or letter sized plain paper sheet.
·         Press and hold the resume or cancel button until alarm lamp 15time flashes and after that release it.
·         Network information page will be successfully printed.
·         Refer the printout and you can check the name of the connection under the “SSID” (Service Set Identifier) field while the “Connection” field should indicate “Active”.
Standard Connection Method

In case, if your router does not support WPS, then you can use Standard Connection Method.
·         First of all, insert the CD which came along with the Printer device. You can also download the manual and software of the Canon Printer model number PIXMA MG3540.
·         Now, initial screen appears click the Next.
·         A screen will displayed asking you to connect between USB or wireless connection.
·         Your printer and lamp power should be turned on and click on Next.
·         After that, click on connect to network tab.
·         Next, after connecting to network click on Cableless setup.
·         Now, hold the printer Wi-Fi button till the orange lamp flashes, and then release it after the second flash.
·         Also make sure that blue (Wi-Fi) lamp flashes quickly and green power lamp is lit and click on the Next.
·         Now, the screen appears for region selection and click on Next.
·         Select the place of residence and click on the Next button.
·         After that, select the software you wish to install and click Next.
·         Next, click on agree of end user license agreement.
·         Now, Installation Wizard Processes and click on Next button.
·         At last, the screen appears with model number and name of wireless network. And Windows Cabless Setup is completed.
